Food Patch Testing Logistics
Our food skin patch testing involves 3 trips to the testing center. On Day 1, we apply the patches with 120 foods (all “type 4″ food allergens) to the upper back. 2 days later, the patches are removed. The skin is examined at that time and again a day or two later, looking for allergic reactions. Specific foods are thus identified that, when avoided in the diet, based on our results so far, partially (about 30% of people tested) or completely (about 20% of those tested) relieve IBS symptoms.
