We are dedicated to helping you identify foods that may cause your Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or IBS-like symptoms. Our groundbreaking clinical research study, Food Patch Testing for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, is proving to be a major advance in the understanding of a cause for IBS. If you have IBS or symptoms suggestive of IBS (see About IBS page), you may benefit from this testing. Simply put, food patch tests applied to and left on the skin for 48 hours are used to identify foods that cause a small allergic reaction where they are applied on the skin. This same allergic reaction likely is occurring in the intestine when the food is eaten, causing inflammation, which then disturbs how the intestine normally works and results in the symptoms of IBS.
Testing is performed by our board certified dermatologists exclusively at the locations listed below. We are in the process of determining the best ways to making the testing more widely accessible and expect to have more news on its greater availability by the first quarter of 2017.
